HSC // Licencing GT Walsheim

We made the decision to use GT Walsheim by Grilli Type as our exclusive Hungry Sandwich Club typeface. We wanted a font that was playful and geometric but which was sophisticated and modern. We want to communicate through our branding that we are confident designers, and so while our imagery and colours could be fun and free, we wanted to be very straightforward in our use of type. We found GT Walsheim to be unusual and charming with sensible nods to classic geometric fonts such as futura/avenir that we already had a preference for using. Out of the other options we had considered, GT Walsheim worked most effectively with our approach to illustration and tone of voice.

We knew that we would be using it across both print and web and invested in a dual licence. We could only afford one weight but hope to expand this as we start to generate some income. Here are some pages from the specimin:
