100 Bears // Context - Chronicle Books Trailers

San Francisco based publisher Chronicle Books create imaginative trailers to promote their releases. These give an indication of the kind of result I would like to get from the brief:

This video does a perfect job of presenting a book in video form, the effect of the turning pages and opening of the sections is so smooth and natural that it makes the viewer want to interact with the actual publication. The subtle animation of the book combined with strong and simple use of typography to sell the features make this a really effective trailer.

This trailer for 'Creative Inc: The Ultimate Guide to Running a Successful Freelance Business' takes a different approach, using stop motion to really sell the character of the book. While a lot longer than my outcome needs to be, I felt that the synchronisation with the music and lo-fi aestehtic created something really interesting, playful and fun.

This trailer creates loads of character from it's eccentric choice of music and first-person stop-frame interaction with the kit itself. By demonstrating the different elements of the set, it sparks the imagination of the viewer as to other possibilities. I love the ending where the packages move away and one hangs on. This tiny detail adds creates a charming ending that ties the video off excellently.
